Providence cruises past Maine

(TSX / STATS) -- Providence established early control for the second straight game and cruised to a 79-59 non-conference victory over visiting Maine Tuesday night.

Saturday, the Friars (10-2) ran off 31 straight points to make early work of Wagner. Tuesday, Providence established an 18-2 lead with a 15-0 run. They led by as many as 19 points in the first half and 27 in the second, with 11:17 remaining.

Emmitt Holt scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Jaylen Lindsey and Ryan Fazekas had 12 points apiece -- Fazekas with a season high -- while Lindsey had nine rebounds. Kyron Cartwright added nine points, six assists and six rebounds.
