No. 15 Purdue overwhelms Western Illinois 82-50

(TSX / STATS) -- WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- When a college basketball team's best player also is its hardest-working player, success usually follows.

That's the case this season for No. 15 Purdue, whose sophomore power forward Caleb Swanigan now has nine double-doubles through 12 games after contributing 21 points and 21 rebounds in only 28 minutes Monday night in an 82-50 victory over Western Illinois.

"There were (88 missed shots) in this game, so there were lots of rebounds to be had, but he certainly had a big night," Purdue coach Matt Painter said of Swanigan. "A lot of guys say they love basketball, but then they get to college with lots of demands on their time and that changes.
