8/16/2017 Ricky Nolasco, LAA, P
Nolasco left Wednesday afternoon's game against the Washington Nationals in the sixth inning in the midst of pitching to Jose Lobaton.

Analysis: The Angels were nursing a 3-2 lead and Nolasco had a 2-2 count on Lobaton before leaving the game. There was no immediate word on the reason for his exit or condition, according to the Angels. Nolasco allowed two runs on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. He threw 112 pitches, with 66 going for strikes.

Analysis: The former Angels ace struggled in his final two seasons with Los Angeles before joining San Diego in the offseason. He was even worse in a Padres uniform with an 0-5 record and a 7.44 ERA in nine starts before landing on the DL with hip inflammation in May. "I've decided to step away from baseball," the 34-year-old Weaver said. "While I've been working hard to get back on the mound, my body just will not allow me to compete like I want to."

Madson might need an extended break due to a finger problem on his throwing hand which is more than just a blister.
