(TSX / STATS) -- The New York Yankees activated rookie Clint Frazier from the disabled list before Monday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Citi Field.

Frazier missed over a month with a strained left oblique and is returning a little over a week after Aaron Hicks was placed on the disabled list for the second time with an oblique injury.

Frazier originally joined the Yankees on June 30 after Dustin Fowler suffered a horrific knee injury crashing into a wall chasing down a foul ball in Chicago.

In 28 games for the Yankees, Frazier is hitting .243 with four homers in 17 RBIs. He hit a walk-off homer against the Milwaukee Brewers on July 1.

Frazier began a rehab assignment with Double-A Trenton last week and was 2-for-17 in their four-game series win over Binghamton in the Eastern League playoffs.

Frazier was Cleveland's first-round pick in the 2013 draft and was the centerpiece when the Yankees acquired him in the days leading up to the 2016 non-waiver trade deadline for left-hander Andrew Miller.
