(TSX / STATS) -- The Orlando Magic signed free agent forward Adreian Payne to a two-way contract on Monday.

The team announced the move but did not disclose financial terms of the deal.

The 6-foot-10 Payne played in 18 games last season for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He averaged 3.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 7.5 minutes per game. Payne also spent time with the Erie BayHawks in the NBA G League.

Selected No. 15 overall in the first round of the NBA Draft in 2014 by Atlanta, Payne has played in 102 regular-season games during his career and started 24 of those with the Hawks and Timberwolves. His career averages are 4.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game.

The former Michigan State standout has split time between G League teams Fort Wayne, Austin and Erie and the NBA.

NBA rules allow for each team to sign two players to two-way contracts outside of the 15-man roster. Those players can be with the NBA team for 45 days not including time before the start or at the conclusion of the G League season. The Magic's G League franchise is located in Lakeland.
